Hundreds march to support student journalist

Hundreds of people gathered Tuesday to support a Bridgewater State University student who was allegedly attacked after writing an opinion piece supporting gay marriage in the student newspaper.

 

"Violence of any kind is wrong," said Jordan Barkalow, the victim's father and a professor at the school. "But violence that targets a person because of an opinion she expresses or because of a particular characteristic is especially egregious."
