Afro-American Society In hopes of promoting diversity among its group members, the Afro-American Society is starting off this school year with an entirely new executive board, made up of President Rahwa Gebrezgi, Vice President Marlyn Colon, Treasurer Anthony Straughn, Secretary Carina Lahens, and Public Relations Representative Eddie Barbosa. The next event for Afro-Am will be a scary movie night in the Moakley Auditorium on Oct. 28. From Nov. 5 to Nov. 9 they will have a career week, which will feature a fashion show, an etiquette dinner, and resume and interview workshops. Some issues that the club targets are career development, academic achievement, and community service in regards to students of African descent. Interested students can attend meetings Mondays from 5-6 p.m. Professional dress is suggested. For more information contact Rahwa at rgebrezgi@bridgew.edu Club de Espanol The president of Club de Espanol, Stefanie Mercadante, has put in a lot of hard work to ensure several exciting events for this semester. The first big event of the school year is the third annual Dia de los Muertos Celebration on Thursday, Nov. 1 from 5-8 p.m. in the multi-purpose room of Crimson Hall. Culturally significant activities will be offered as well as Hispanic music and food, such as tortillas. Another activity is the second annual Trivia Night, which will test students' knowledge of Hispanic culture, with a chance to win a variety of prizes. The game will be held from 5-6 p.m. on Nov. 13 in 1 Park Ave. as part of International Week.

The Club de Espanol meets every Tuesday at 1 p.m. in RCC room 106; all are welcome. Other members of the executive board include Vice President Santaea Sen, Treasurer John Matson, and Secretary Melissa Albisu. For more information contact Stefanie at smercadante@bridgew.edu. Crimson Ambassadors President Chris Markey describes the Ambassadors as, "one of the most active, historic and exciting student leadership groups in the history of Bridgewater State College." He also called the Crimson Ambassadors, "a fixture on campus by way of college pride and, most of all, tradition." They are a group that holds many events throughout the year, such as The Annual Tuition Raffle, Crimson and White theme dances, and a holiday season clothing and toy drive for needy Massachusetts families, among others.

On Saturday Oct. 27 the Crimson Ambassadors, along with the Alumni Association, will be co-sponsoring a tent located on the football field during the homecoming game versus Worcester State. They will be featuring a series of tables with giveaways, raffle prizes, refreshments, as well as a, "Stuff -a- Bear" station. Other members of the executive board include Vice President Billy Regan, Secretary Cory Parker and Treasurer Andrew Cerqueira. They meet every other Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Davis Alumni Center. Men Integrated in Brotherhood Men Integrated in Brotherhood is a group for all minority men on campus. This group is gathered to give support, information, and also create a sense of brotherhood for all of its members. Not only is this group organized to show respect and knowledge amongst each other but to also throughout the BSC community. The group is led by President Dejaun Renrick and Vice President Anthony Straughn. Upcoming event: Sex and Chocolate Oct. 23 at 8:30 p.m. located in Shea/Durgin. The Outdoor Adventure Club

"We Do It In The Woods." That is the motto for Bridgewater State College's Outdoor Adventure Club. Most of the learning done in college is indoors in a classroom setting. However, this club allows our learning experiences to expand beyond these familiar surroundings. Activities are centered on outdoor recreation, interactive education, community service, teamwork, physical fitness, and intercollegiate events. For instance, on Monday, Oct. 8, a sunset hike a Blue Hills in Milton, MA took place. On Saturday, Oct. 21, the club will be camping at Wompatuck in Hingham, MA. New members are always welcome to the club, the recipient of the 2005-2006 BSC Rising Star Organization Award. The meetings are every Tuesday at 5 p.m. in Hunt Hall room 217. RHA Residence Hall Association (RHA) is an on- campus group that plans campus-wide programs. RHA also provides financial support for the individual Residence Hall Council's (RHC) to plan programs and make improvements to their halls.

RHA's upcoming events include Haunted Halls on Oct. 31, in which kids from the Bridgewater community will be trick-or-treating at Woodward Hall and then heading to the Woodward basement for a Halloween party. On Dec. 11 at 8 p.m. in the Horace Mann Auditorium, the comedian Ben Hague will be performing. He is a comedian from Cranston, RI who has won various awards and has performed in L.A. and at the Boston Comedy Connection.

The United Caribbean Club also known as U.C.C is a distinct club for all students and the BSC community. This club is focused on raising awareness and contributing to the Caribbean culture at large. U.C.C is run by President Sandra Augustin and Vice President Maria Pinto. The executive board includes Nicole Duncan, Ade Adenalke and Brian Bardouville. U.C.C meets every Wednesday at 3 p.m. in RCC room 202. For further information, contact Sandra Augustin at saugustin@bridgew.edu.
