Editors' Note: The Comment will be following a short story. It is fictional and follows the life of a BSC student.

As the girls piled onto Safety, Kyndra was having mixed feelings about the night.

"Train tracks please," her friend Natalie said climbing on.

Crap, she had forgotten to call Joe and tell him what she was doing. She rummaged through her oversized purse for a good five minutes before finding her cell phone. When she finally got a hold of it, she hesitantly made the call.

She wanted to see him, but she didn't. She always felt like she couldn't be herself around him, not yet. And tonight, she was looking forward to just letting loose and having fun with her friends. No answer. Oh well, she was sure she'd see him there, they usually ended up at the same parties, that was how they met.

By the time they arrived, it seemed like everyone there was already drunk.

"We better catch up!" Natalie said excitedly as the group made their way downstairs.

Kyndra looked around, but there was no sign of Joe. Weird, she thought.

"Kyndra, come play flip cup!" yelled Julie from across the room.

"I'm not really in the mood right now," she replied.

"Fine," Julie whined turning to find more people with whom to play.

For some reason Kyndra wasn't really in the mood for any of this. She found herself oddly and suddenly preoccupied with finding Joe. Looking around, it was your typical college party: beiruit, girls dancing, boys watching the girls dancing, girls yelling at their boyfriends for watching girls dancing, people falling over themselves, people making out, loud music; it was nothing new.

She needed air; the atmosphere was already too much. She squeezed her way up the crowded stairway and headed towards the door. It was freezing outside and the air was filled with smoke from the usual smoking crew, a lot of whom happened to be her friends.

"Hey," Natalie said making her way over to Kyndra; she reeked of tobacco. "Any sign of Joe yet?"

"Nah," she replied, "whatever."

She was trying to get used to this whole new "go with the flow" attitude she had decided to adopt. After several minutes, she couldn't take the cold anymore. As she turned to go back inside, through the glass window of the door there he was. She smiled at him for a second. Her gaze was then shifted to a short, blonde girl who appeared from behind him, grabbing his hand. Joe looked like a deer caught in headlights.

She no longer wanted to open the door, yet she could see her arm rising up, her hand grasping the doorknob and turning it. What was she doing? She couldn't seem to control her own body, and before she knew it she was face to face with Joe and his friend.

"Hi, I didn't think you were coming here tonight."

"I always come here," replied Kyndra, feeling extremely uncomfortable. What was happening right now?

"Who's your friend?" she asked, trying to act sincere.

"Oh, this is Anna," he paused, "my ex girlfriend from home."

"Oh." That was it; that was all that came out.

Kyndra was mortified. She then accidentally made eye contact with Anna, perfect. Not knowing what else to do, she simply turned and started walking towards the stairs. She suddenly decided she would take Julie up on her flip cup offer.
