Quite possibly the biggest game of this decade has finally released and I can confidently say it exceeds all expectations that I could possibly have had. Every element of the game has been lifted from the first and works fantasticly. From the campaign to the multiplayer, everyone with this game will definitely get their money's worth. The campaign picks up right were the Call of Duty 4 left off; With you taking out Imran Zakhaev, the main villain, and what was believed to be the end of the war. Modern Warfare 2 pins you against Makarov, a Russian leader who is hell bent on destroying the world. Without giving much of the story away, the game will take you through many twists and turns that will make your heart drop.

Like most games in the series, Modern Warfare 2 has great level design, bringing your character(s) through snowy Russia all the way to the slums of Brazil. Levels will also include vehicles like the famous snowmobile level already introduced to the public. Their will also be an underwater mission, but there really wasn't much to do except look. In multiplayer, levels are more varied and showcase more emphasis on the terrain and some tough to reach parts of the map.

New to the series is the cooperative mode called Spec Ops. You and a friend get to tackle 23 different missions that all have three difficulty options. You can play in splitscreen or online. The mode really focuses on communication and teamwork to get all of the achievements done. It brings another aspect to the game once you get tired on multiplayer.

Graphically, this game is unreal. From the weather effects to the destructible objects, even online play looks significantly better than its predecessor. It is easily the best looking multiplatform game ever. Music is another big part of the presentation and composer Hans Zimmer delivers a superb soundtrack that compliments the game and gives that heightened sense of intensity. All of the weapons have been re-recorded to give the sense of ultra-realistic sounding guns. Even the in-game chatter you have with characters makes you feel immersed in all of the action.

On the gameplay side, this is still the Call of Duty you know and love and has also been improved, such as running into never-ending hoards of enemies, and the moments of confusion during missions are also gone for the most part.

The beefed-up online mode is what fans will keep coming back for. With new guns, perks, attachments, rewards, callsigns and killstreaks, Infinity Ward didn't hold back on updating this part of the game. The game simply does a better job on rewarding you by doing simple things and will keep new players coming back for more. The sheer amount of customization that this game has to offer in nearly boundless.

With an intense campaign mode, challenging Spec Ops modes and addicting online mode, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is an absolute blast. Fans of the series will most likely own this game already. In fact, some people reading probably already hit prestige mode. Modern Warfare 2 has certainly lived up to the hype and will be played for months on end.
