All the votes have been tallied, and the Student Government Association Vice President for the 2008-2009 school year is Anthony Straughn. Straughn has been involved with the SGA for one year, and got involved after being encouraged by current President Mario Pires and current Vice President Mickey Howard. Additionally, Straughn is working as an Orientation Leader for the Center of Student Involvement and Leadership and Vice President of Pre-Law Club.
"I ran for Vice President for the main reason of being overseer of the SGA Lecture Series" explains Straughn. "I hope to institute Cultural Awareness through the next years upcoming speakers [and] I hope to provide a year of interesting, intriguing, and door busting speakers."
